Just so the two of you who read this (Hi Mom! Hi Dad!) know, I’m considering changing the name of this blog. If you’ve read Donald Miller, you’ll have realized Red Like Tango is a parody of Blue Like Jazz. I thought it clever at the time – and still kind of do – but I’m in a different place in life, nowadays, and have decided on a new direction for this blog, namely, a journal of a recovering addict. Not sure how many blogs out there cover the topic (haven’t looked), but I figure I’ll add my voice to the list. Haven’t decided on a name, yet. Suggestions?

I read your blog (HI, MR. AND MRS. NIX! I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT DAY DECEMBER 28 FALLS ON IN 1928. ALSO, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW MANY SECONDS IT TOOK YOU TO FIGURE THAT OUT). And to be honest, I hadn't gotten the “blue like jazz” reference even though I have read Donald Miller. I support you whether you decide to change it or keep it.

I read and am neither of your parents. Soooo….
I'm excited for the new name but I hope I still remember it's you when it comes up on my blog list.
I'm excited for the new direction too–I think you have a lot of valuable things to say. -
Sonja- 45 seconds (I googled “1928 calendar” and my wifi is slow).
Ian, I support you (morally) with your choice.
How about “Pipe dreams” ha ha. No- prob not. I must resist the temptation to tell you the other 5 or 6 cute/sick ideas I had. Instead, maybe:
The Return of Ian Combian? (as in The return of Martin Guerre).
Humpty Dumpty does Rehab.
De Profundis (Out of the depths)
OK. Gotta eat supper now.

Dad, I think Sonja was hoping you'd do your trick to figure out what day (Sun-Sat) any day of any year is or was. I forget what you call it. And you said 45 seconds but you didn't say what day it was.
I like those suggestions. Actually, I really liked Pipe Dreams. You should tell me what the other five or six were. 🙂

Yeah, I got that (what Sonja meant)- but I was too lazy to do the extra figuring for the year. It was Friday. Funny she asked for that date- when the Nix family arrived in the USA (1960). And that year- when Oupa was born (Sept 4)!
The other ideas were just free association- will have to jump on that magic carpet again sometime… -
sienna like sobriety.
(sienna is a crayon…its actually called burnt sienna. its brownish.)
i seem to have forgotten all my other top notch ideas. i'll get back to you on that.
more posts! pronto! 🙂
